Finland's Hydrogen Valley has just turned one year old and we are starting to settle down a bit. The work we do together is important and our impact is growing as our membership grows; we now have a total of 45 members.
We are constantly developing our activities to improve our services for you too. Advocacy in its various forms is our main task and currently the most active agenda is to tackle the wind power challenges in eastern Finland and to improve the coverage of energy transmission networks.

Hydrogen and power to the South East
On Tuesday 5.3. in Lappeenranta, Finland's Hydrogen Valley organised a Hydrogen and Power to the South-East event that attracted hundreds of enthusiasts. The event discussed the potential of hydrogen and clean energy in south-east Finland.
The event was also the final seminar of the Hydrogen, Power to the South East project.
The project, led by the City of Lappeenranta, highlighted promising opportunities for the use of green hydrogen in the region. Hydrogen plays an important role in achieving carbon neutrality in transport, industry and energy storage.

Annual meeting of the association
The Annual Meeting of the Finnish Hydrogen Valley will be held in Helsinki on 26.3.2024. The meeting will deal with statutory matters and elect the Board of Directors. We remind you to consider suitable candidates for the board to further develop our activities.
Gasgrid Finland's Hydrogen Valleys Development Manager Heli Virkki will also attend the event to bring greetings on the development of the hydrogen network and Gasgrid's vision.
The invitation to the meeting will be sent to all members in the next few days.
World Hydrogen Summit 2024
The Finnish Hydrogen Valley Association is participating in the largest annual event in the hydrogen sector together with other national hydrogen players at the Business Finland pavilion. The event is recommended for all those interested in the development of the sector.

A group of companies at the Kotkamills factories
Our own business group met on 26.1.2024 for MM Kotkamills Oy. The programme included a company presentation with a tour of the factory and important information from researchers at LUT University on topics such as carbon dioxide capture and utilisation. A dozen or so enthusiastic company representatives were present, with a few people listening to the presentations on the line. The event was truly rewarding in terms of content. Thanks to the hosts, especially Harri Mielonen, Director of Energy, and to our participating members and Professor Tero Tynjälä of LUT University.
