What is the Hydrogen Valley Finland?
The aim of the Finnish Hydrogen Valley Association is to promote renewable energy production and investment in the hydrogen economy.
The network started in the counties of North and South Karelia, Kymenlaakso and the Loviisa region, with municipalities, companies and development companies, and has expanded to South and North Savo, Kainuu and as far as Eastern Lapland. The association now has a diverse membership of companies, municipalities and development companies, educational institutions, individual members and supporters.
The aim of the association is to enable significant investments in renewable energy and hydrogen economy in eastern Finland and to form a subcontracting and cooperation network, or cluster, around them. In this way, Finland's Hydrogen Valley will become a genuinely investment-attractive environment.

Strategic objectives
Our strategic goal is to promote the hydrogen economy in eastern Finland. This will be achieved by creating the conditions for wind power construction, increasing the capacity of the electricity grid, utilizing bio-based carbon dioxide, and implementing the ResilEast program.
Our goal is to make Suomen Vetylaakso ry the most respected player in the field in Finland. We'll do this by better representing our members' interests, improving our communications, and growing our membership by creating added value.
Knowledge, research, development, and innovation are our competitive advantages. We work closely with LUT University, which provides us with the latest research results and expert opinions. We are part of the Hydrogen Europe network, which provides our members with the latest information on the development of the hydrogen economy in Europe.
Finland is opening up tremendous opportunities to harness the vitality of green electrification.
The realisation of a hydrogen valley in eastern Finland requires cooperation between all actors in the regions. The role of Hydrogen Valley Finland is to highlight and clarify the business opportunities for companies in the sector.
The hydrogen economy will include not only the production, transport and storage of hydrogen, but also downstream processing and many subcontracting and service activities in the value chain. This offers great opportunities for all the regions of Eastern Finland for decades to come, to create new jobs, to create and attract new growing businesses and to keep Eastern Finland vibrant.
